Say Hello to New Team Member Cindy Torres
Journey2Consciousness LLC is excited to introduce you all to its FIRST INTERN! We sat down with Cindy Torres to learn more about her experiences and what she hopes to get out of this internship.
Where do you go to school and what year are you?
I am a student at University of Maryland and I am a rising senior.
What is your major? Why did you choose this major?
I am currently a communications major. After being a business major for so long, I decided to dip my toes into communications and I instantly fell in love with the program offered at my school. For so long I thought I would get my bachelors in business, I even got my associates in business but in the end, communication won my heart.
What is your Zodiac sign? Do you feel like you embody your astrological blueprint?
I am an Aquarius! Yes, I am very observant and it takes me a while to feel someone out in order to want to associate myself with them. I love being alone and rarely ever feel like I need to always have someone by my side.
What is your biggest accomplishment to date — personal or professional?
My biggest accomplishment is going to college, I’m the first in my family to go to college and to get a degree. It makes me happy to see how far I’ve come because there was a time when I did not know whether or not I was even going to be accepted at the University of Maryland and I was! That alone was a huge accomplishment for my family and me. I also just purchased my very first car in September of last year, which was super exciting!
What drew you to working with Rowena?
When I saw the job description that my professor sent me, I was instantly interested because I saw that she specialized a lot in zodiac signs and ever since I was in middle school, I read my horoscope daily. It is not every day you get to work with a professional like that. Dr. Rowena Winkler works a lot with energy and for the past couple of years I have found a new obsession with reading energy. I am usually pretty good at reading energy when I walk into a room or when it comes to reading people. Of course, I am no professional, but I figured I would learn a thing or two from someone that was!
What is your personal mantra?
“I don’t chase, I attract. What belongs to me will simply find me.”
What do you hope to accomplish working for J2C?
While working at J2C I hope to continue making connections and forming relationships with new people. I know that my experience with Dr. Rowena will benefit me because I have so much to learn from her and I am just so excited and grateful to be a part of her team. It is truly an honor to be interning with Dr. Rowena Winkler, she is such an inspiring woman and I hope to one day be at least half the woman she is today.
What do you hope to accomplish in 2022 in general?
In 2022, I hope to become a better version of myself. I really do want to be more organized and get better at time management. As someone that struggles with ADD, small tasks can sometimes end up being really hard for me so I can only hope to get better at setting realistic goals. This year, my goal is to find things in my life that will continue to motivate me and help me stay on top of things I need to do. I find that physically writing down things and scheduling interruptions really helps. I want to be more confident in myself and be more comfortable.
Thanks, Cindy — we are so excited to see what knowledge you gain this semester!
